Many of you probably never knew I was a 9rules member. Through each redesign I’ve forgotten to put the 9rules leaf back into the site somewhere. I realized a few months ago that my forgetting was a sure sign I wasn’t devoted to the community as much anymore and with the twins coming in a few weeks I just can’t see myself as a part of yet one more community.
When I joined, I did so because of the number of people I looked up to who were a part of 9rules. Most of those people have since left and now there are only about 5 people whose names I even recognize and maybe 2 I know personally. It’s just not the same group anymore.
An email went out this weekend that reminded me why it is long past my time to leave. They’ve come up with a new membership agreement which requires members to actively participate in the group, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing - for the group. For me though, with so much going on in my life right now, it’s just not something I can commit to.
