First Impressions

Reading today about website visitors’ first impressions, it seems there is more to be said for using vector graphics, drawings and icons in a design instead of photographs.

This comes from an article about the speed at which users judge a website. It turns out, based on a study, that users are judging websites in 1/20 of a second! That gives us as designers a VERY short window to grab them. It’s not necessarily enough to change the entire scope of my design approach, because in reality people aren’t flipping through webpages that quickly, but it is something to consider.
